[Quick Notes]

  • BugFix - Sometimes zombies would move very slow after spawning into the game.
  • BugFix - Fixed "Play Game" issue where you could keep clicking the button.
  • Started adding Easter Eggs
  • New Main Menu "Dead Woods" along with scope reduction for game.
  • Added Stats to Main Menu and Death Screen.
  • Cleaned up "Pause Screen"
  • Updated player character model to a police officer.
  • Simple Zombie dismemberment system.
  • Added "Armor", "Temporary No Reload" and "Temporary Invincible" drops
  • Updated pickups to be particles instead of just a glowing ball.
  • Added Fat&Skinny Bullet Sponge Zombies
  • Cleaned up the project to reduce build size.
  • Basic ambiance sound during gameplay

[Overview]

  • Started adding easter eggs for milestones during gameplay. After certain milestones are reached the "Main Menu" will have subtle changes. The milestones are simple things like picking up 25 Health Drops. Little something to build on top of.
  • Removed all maps except "The Woods" and altered the Main Menu to reflect this change. The decision was made in order to reduce the scope of the game.
  • Added Stats to the Main Menu and Death Screen. Going to track more gameplay properties in the future. This will help add more Easter Eggs and Achievements.
  • Pause Screen looks much better. Faded the background slightly and cleanup up the display. Old Pause Screen was just a black box in the middle of the screen.
  • Switched the player character to a police officer. No real reason other than liking the new model more.
  • Added a few new drops. "Armor", "Temporary No Reload" and "Temporary Invincible". They have a new particle instead of just being a glowing ball but I still need to add an effect when picking them up. These new particles will be changed again soon. I'm making these myself from scratch so it will take some time.
  • Added two new models to break up the enemies. There is a "Fat Horror" and a "Skinny Horror" from Bugrimov.
  • Build size was exceeding 5G because of all the 4k textures from the some asset packs. Started cleaning the project and was able to reduce the build size down to under 1G.
